PFA has worked closely with power utilities and energy ministries in a number of capacities providing studies on increasing generating efficiency, providing reliable power exchange and generation savings, ensuring fair rates of return to operators and investors and providing advice about how best to raise funds in privatized markets.


PFA is co-lead with Capital Bank Investments of Jordan an advisory and placement for a greenfield 1,500 MW combined cycle plant  in Iraq. CapI is advising Mass Group Holdings that has substantial experience in infrastructure plant construction and operations in both Kurdistan and Iraq. The diligence  will be used to finance the plant under a PPA with the Ministry of Electricity of Iraq.

PFA is advised a 150MW IPP producer in Panama on all aspects of a greenfield development for a HFO fired plant. PFA’s has provided expertise to develop a banking analysis for application to the Overseas Private Investment Corporation (OPIC) that involves cost/price quantification and review of fuel supply contracts, required electrical transmission assets as well as  EPC contracts inclusive of the O&M contract for plant operations. Rand Dresser has been selected as the engine provider.

PFA provided financial and strategic advisory services with respect to a proposed new 5,250 MW hydro dam to be constructed by the Ethiopian Electric Power Company to provide energy to Sudan and Egypt. PFA will provide advice as it relates to the expected capital costs, operating costs, transmission capacity and infrastructure, contractual arrangements for payment to the national grid or export, and general management of a special purpose transmission company.
